  • I show how to fix a Craftsman ratchet wrench that is slipping or not working very well. Most often the problem is that the grease inside the wrench is old and dirty. I show how to disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble the wrench to make it work again. My wrench in the video is a 20+ year old Craftsman. I probably could have returned it, and gotten a new wrench. But the new Craftsman socket wrenches are made a little cheaper and have plastic levers. Also, that wouldn’t have been as fun. I use Super Lube to lubricate the wrench. The list of possible lubes is nearly endless.

This is the Super Lube grease is used:

This is the first Fixing it Forward video! In this episode we go through Barbara’s list and fix what we can, and diagnose the rest. Yea, this van is old, and it has a few problems, but I think we can get it back on the road.

Here’s a run down of what’s in this installment. We deal with coolant leaks, a sticking ignition lock, weird electrical problems, windows that don’t work, and cheap Chinese parts that break when you try and use them. I’ll be diagnosing the transmission in the next installment of Fixing it Forward. Right now I need to track down some parts.
