STORYLINE:
U-S police have announced that a bus driver shot dead on Tuesday was the Washington-area sniper’s 13th victim.
At a news conference at Montgomery County Police Headquarters, Chief Charles Moose confirmed what many people had suspected.
Ballistics tests showed that the bullet taken from the body of Conrad Johnson was related to the other recent incidents in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
Authorities believe Johnson, 35, is the 13th victim in what may be a multimillion-dollar extortion attempt.
Members of Johnson’s family brought flowers to the scene of his killing Wednesday afternoon.
Dances, school pride celebrations and other organized activities have been cancelled.
