We use Hex Keys during our furniture assembly jobs. By placing heat-shrink tubing (we used red for the 4-mm, and blue for the 5-mm) on the keys, it makes identifying the key a little easier.
Yes, there are colored, anodized hex keys on the market. But they can be pricey. This is just a trick to help those who are doing assembly jobs full time…save a little time and money.
