Tools, China or Taiwan, Pick Your Poison.
It’s getting tough to find products and tools Made in the USA. Often, brands of tools that were recently Made in the USA have now shipped their operations overseas to China. As an example of another tool manufacturer that was previously only Made in the USA, Armstrong (which are the tools used by the US military) is now making some of it’s tools in Taiwan. Irwin Peterson, the manufacturers of the original vice-grip pliers, has moved all it’s manufacturing operations to China. It is still possible to buy most products and tools made right here in the USA but you have to look hard. And sometimes products and tools sold on-line are mislabeled Made in the USA and you find out when they arrive that the tool is actually made overseas in a foreign country. Such was the case with these Armstrong locking pliers.
