BE SURE TO USE CURVED JAW VICE GRIPS! Long nose straights are far more prone to rotational slipping.
Here’s a way to save some time when you’re replacing the timing components on a Ford 5.4L 3V. This is slightly riskier as you could bump the vice grips and the cams could pop over and bend valves. Be sure to have as much as possible ready to go back together before you start this procedure to minimize the time the camshafts are held in this precarious position.
