Music – SNDR and Joey Shigrov – Memories
Brand name pocket hole jigs are really expensive in New Zealand for what they are, so I made one. I’ve never used a pocket hole jig before so I didn’t really know what features I needed it to have, but if I made another one it would definitely have two holes, and I would use a more durable steel tube. This was made with what I had lying around (a broken umbrella and a 2X4 offcut) so it cost $0 to make, but it would last a lot longer if the metal tube I used to line the whole was thicker, it is too thin to last very long without being ripped apart by the drill. In the video I’m using drywall screws and they seem to work fine. So far the jig has worked great, but I can definitely see the benefits of the larger jigs that you can clamp pieces into. Enjoy
