ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA — A math teacher was scheduled to make her first appearance in court this week to answer accusations that she had sexual relations with her teenaged students.
Erin McAuliffe, 25, is charged with three felony counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor.
The three alleged victims are all students at Rocky Mount Prep School in North Carolina — two young men aged 17, and one boy aged just 16, the Rocky Mount Telegram reported.
According to her LinkedIn profile, McAuliffe offered “after-school tutoring to help struggling students improve their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.”
She also worked to “develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications in student programs to increase student understanding.”
All of the alleged sexual activity took place off-campus, according to police. The cops were called on May 4, when school admin staff reported McAuliffe.
McAuliffe has been fired from the school and was held in jail until she posted a $20,000 bond.
She faces up to five years in prison, if convicted.
