This is a very easy way to make long woodworking clamps using smaller Irwin clamp parts. By knocking out the collar/pin at the end of the smaller clamps the handle grips will slide off. The local hardware store had some flat stock 1/8″ x 1/2″ for about $5. The hand grips slide nicely onto the rod and hold very well. This makes a clamp almost 3′ long and also can work as a spreader clamp. Thanks for taking a look.
