Smart Car Service Swindle? Replacing Front Brake Pads and Rotors

In which I am stunned by the cost of brake service and decide to do it my self. I saved $368.82 today and that feels good.

This is NOT a how-to video. I am not a mechanic. Hopefully this video raises awareness about how much the dealership is charging you and how little work they are doing.

Tools.

Required for brake pad replacement:

New Brake Pads
Rubber mallet, in case pads are stuck in caliper bracket
Ratchet, swivel is handy
17 mm open ended wrench, for caliper pins
Clamp, to push back caliper piston
15 mm socket, for wheel bolts
13 mm socket, for caliper bolts
Socket extension, as brake line is close to caliper bolts
Metal pipe to slide over ratchet, for ceased bolts
Jack
Jack Stand
Needle Nose pliers, in case new brake pads do not have springs
Rubber Gloves
Rag

Required for rotor replacement:

In addition to above list:

18 mm socket, to remover caliper bracket
Torx 30 screwdriver, to remove rotor screw
Sledge Hammer, to remove rotor
New Rotor
