Resistance Tweezer Weld Stainless Steel Wires with Sunstone CD Welder and Hand Piece Attachment

System 1:
CD400DP-RS, 400ws CD resistance welder with roll spot programming
Poke Tweezer Hand Piece
1awg weld cables

Both types of stainless steel are welded at the same energy settings.

The 0.3mm wires are welded with Pulse 1 off, Pulse 2 at 20ws and Total Energy at 20ws. The wires are welded in a slight crossing pattern to facilitate wire positioning and ensure contact during the weld. The wings can be clipped off if they will be an issue.

The 0.7mm wires are welded with Pulse 1 off, Pulse 2 at 55ws, and Total Energy at 55ws. Pulse 1 can be added if desired to help burn off contaminants before the weld; but it is not necessary.

Although we were able to achieve strong welds using the settings outlined above, you may be able to dial in the settings further as you experiment and optimize for your process and product.

Summary:
The CD400DP is an ideal power supply for performing tweezer welds on wires. The energy available is sufficient to weld even larger wires and the unit is a good fit for industrial applications. I would have no hesitation recommending System 1.
