First flight of my Great Planes Seawind. The airplane flew beautifully. Definitely one of the fastest float planes I’ve flown. I neglected to balance her prior to arriving at the lake, and had to add about 3lbs of ballast to the nose prior to flying her (you’ll hear references to 2 pairs of vice grip pliers, which were part of the makeshift ballast I added). I was a little worried about dragging a wing tip on the takeoff run, but it wasn’t an issue. Next time out I’ll get the flaps working to slow it down a bit on landing.
