Optical Tweezers – Red Blood Cell Transportation

In this video a red blood cell is captured and manipulated using four time-shared traps.
A trapped red blood cell is held by four time-shared traps which apply strain onto it forcing the cell to assume a rather rectangular shape. It is also possible to turn off the laser, recapture and rearrange the cell after switching it back on. Later in the video the red blood cell is forced to assume different kind of shapes using the traps.
