Just a quick experiment with a couple different types of ribbed rubber matting laid inside an old mitre box and washed with a 300gph fountain pump. The flow from the pump at full volume is pretty much perfect although I just pinched a vise grip on the hose to give a bit of fine adjustment. Easy to adjust by just tightening or loosening it with the knob on the end.
The end result was good, lots of small flecks of fine flour gold caught in the riffles although hard to show on the camera. I’m pretty sure it works as well as panning and it’s a whole lot easier. It also highlighted how little gold there was in my cons though. I brought back less than half a bucket from the NSR and really only came up with a few flakes. Next project is a highbanker I guess…
