This is a closeup of the clip in the headlight assembly in a 2008 Mazda 3. This clip can be a pain to use, figured I would show a closeup of the clip and how it functions. In the end I ended up using a screwdriver, so I think it would be easiest if you use a long straight screwdriver and this should help you out with the clip. This thing is a pain to get put in there until you get used to it.
