Kobalt (Lowe’s) v Pittsburgh (Harbor Freight) torque wrench

Tested my Kobalt torque wrench ($100) against my Pittsburgh ($10) at 60 ft-lbs to see if they were different. They were not.
This is obviously just one data point, not an exhaustive scientific comparison. This doesn’t test their accuracy against the real torque figure, only against each other, but the fact that they’re identical in value is a strong case for them both being close to the real number. I’m not making a judgment, but providing something for you to consider when deciding which one you might buy. Obviously I haven’t tested if either wrench holds up after repeated use, and the Kobalt is both easier to read and has a nicer locking collar.

That squeaking sound is my infant hiccuping in the background.
