THE SEARCH IS OVER — THE UK’S ULTIMATE TRADESMAN IS CROWNED!
More than 4000 contestants took part in the competition during 2010, all demonstrating their skills and vying for a chance to win an amazing IRWIN Aston Martin V8 Vantage sports car at events throughout the UK and Ireland.
Carpenter and joiner Daniel Shepherd, was the eventual winner, driving away in the prize Aston Martin after a nail-biting competition watched by hundreds of tools enthusiasts.
Over the course of the final, Daniel, 29, from Halifax, West Yorkshire, went head to head with 31 of the finest tradesmen that the industry has to offer. Each of them had previously emerged victorious from one of more than 60 heats that took place across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland.
Every contestant had to complete, against the clock, a specially prepared challenge that involved cutting, clamping, marking, measuring and drilling, using such tools as the IRWIN Vise-Grip Groovelock pliers, Jack 880 Triple Ground Saw, a Quick-Grip XP one handed bar clamp and Blue Groove Power drill bits.
