How to use Malyugin Ring. Easy In, Easy Out.

Quick and Easy placement and removal of Malyugin Ring.
Key Points:

1. When injecting the Ring, make sure the injector push button is facing down. That will allow trailing hook of injector to easily come off the Malyugin Ring.

2. When the injector button is facing down, use Thumb to advance the lever and inject the Ring.

3. Use Ball chopper to manipulate Ring. The Ball chopper will not puncture the anterior capsule, and the Ball has an edge that can be used to easily hold and maneuver the Malyugin Ring without the Ring falling off. (A Sinskey hook is sharp and can puncture capsule, and it doe not have a ledge so the the Ring will constantly fall off. A Kuglen hook is sharp and can puncture the capsule, and the Ring can get stuck in the edges of the Kuglen hook).

4. Removal of the Ring can be performed by using the injector to re capture the Ring (this is cumbersome) or it can be cut with a Vannas scissor and dialed out. My preferred technique is to simply grab the Ring with a 0.12 forceps and pull the Ring out. When using 0.12 to grab Ring out, be sure the Ring is free from the capsulorhexis and iris, so they are not hooked.
