Shopping List for How to Replace an Old Faucet:
- kitchen faucet
- shut-off valves with compression fittings
- rigid lav supply, used to supply hot- and cold-water to faucet
- plumber’s putty, used to seal faucet’s mounting flange Bucket, used to catch water
- emery cloth, used to clean old pipe prior to installing the new valves
Tools for How to Replace an Old Faucet:
- close-quarter hacksaw, used to cut old water-supply lines
- basin wrench, used to loosen nuts holding faucet in place
- two open-end wrenches, for loosening and tightening nuts
- propane torch, used to remove old sweated shut-off valves
- bending spring, used to bend rigid lav supply
- screwdriver, for installing weight to spray hose
- pliers, used to remove the old valves after melting the solder with a torch
