How to remove the Shaft Seal on a Parker F12 Hydraulic Motor Pump
Hello, I’m Bill Dillon and I’m here today to show you the Parker F12 Hydraulic Motor and how to remove and replace the shaft seal in it.
Here is your step-by-step guide.
Step 1: You want to grab your Snap-ring pliers, you’re going to put them into the groove of the shaft and make sure to put the shaft facing toward you.
Step 2: As you take out the Snap-ring put your hand over it to protect yourself, just in case the Snap-ring were to pop out, you don’t want to hurt anyone.
Step 3: After you take the Snap-ring out you then take a flat tip screw driver and basically lift the seal out. You’ll have an O-ring in here which is going to seal the outside surface, you can use the flat tip screw driver to help get the O-ring out as well.
Step 4: Check to make sure the O-ring looks good. I recommend you stretch it a bit to make sure it’s in good shape.
Step 5: If the O-ring looks good then by all means put it back into place. If it doesn’t then you can replace it with a new one.
Step 6: You have a snap-ring on the Valve Plate too, you will remove that snap-ring basically the same way as I stated above.
On the other side of the Valve Plate you have a little punch hole to push the old seal out and you can use it to help put the new seal in.
Step 7: Lubricate it with a little Vaseline, place it back in nice and evenly and push it down.
Step 8: You take your Snap-ring again and put it back into the housing. Make sure it lines up in the groove.
