In order to remove the magnet use a pair of lock pliars or a vice, clamp the pliars on one side of the bracket. Get another pair of pliars and clamp them on the other side of the baraket. Now put on eye protection incase the magnet breakes. Just bend the bracket and the magnet should come right off.
The magnet is held on by epoxy or some other strong adhesive. The nickel plating on the back of the magnet may come off.
Now you have one super strong Neodymium magnet.
