Hi there. In this video I’m going to tell you how to make these dangly earrings using faceted teardrops from House of Gems. You’ll be amazed at how quickly they go together. You’re going to love making these earrings. They go together in no time.
You can see I’ve already made one here, and these are all the supplies you need for one. You need an ear wire, of course. You need three links of six by eight millimeter chain. A 12 by 9 millimeter faceted gemstone teardrop, top-drilled. And a fine-gauge, like a 20 gauge 8 millimeter jump ring, and that’s it. And the only tools you’ll need? Well, the only tool you need is a pair of chain-nose pliers.
So first you’ll open your jump ring and then slide it into your teardrop. Now because the jump ring is curved and the teardrop hole is straight, it may take just a little bit of doing to get the end of that jump ring through your teardrop. And if the shape is messed up, we can straighten it out later. And I’m just going to leave a little bit sticking out of this end, and just use the tool to shape it round again. Just kind of work it until it’s a round shape and I like to have the split on the side so that it’s not going to slip through the chain. And then you just open it, slip in one end link of your chain, close it up again securely. And then you open the loop of your ear wire. Same way, twist it sideways, slip in the other end link of your chain, and close that securely.
And there you have it, a pair of earrings in less than five minutes. It took me longer to gather the supplies than it took to make them. This would be a great last minute gift or for a last minute occasion. Happy creating.
