INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
( 1 ) REMOVAL OF OEM HEATER HOSES
1. Using a jack, securely support the vehicle on jack stands or use a vehicle lift. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. (Located in the trunk).
2. Using your Phillips screwdriver, remove the coolant drain plug located in the center of the vehicle, below the radiator. Drain all coolant from the vehicle, using a drain pan to catch all used coolant. Removing the radiator cap will aid in the draining process.
3. Using your Lineman’s pliers, begin to loosen the heater hose spring clamps starting with the right hose connection at the engine, beneath the exhaust manifold.
4. Loosen the two additional spring clamps on the heather hoses at the firewall.
5. Working with care, carefully remove the factory heater hose on the right from the vehicle.
6. In order to remove the left heater hose from the vehicle, you must first remove the ground bolt from the engine using the 12mm socket. You will need to slightly bend the engine dipstick out of the way as well.
7. Once the ground bolt is removed, there will be easier access to the heather hose spring clamp located behind the engine block. Using your lineman’s pliers, loosen the spring clamp on the hose and remove the hose from the vehicle.
( 2 ) INSTALLATION OF MISHIMOTO SILICONE HEATER HOSES
1. Apply new #6 hose clamps (not included) to the Mishimoto heater hoses before beginning installation. Now would also be a good time to spray some grease or WD-40 on the inlet of the hoses to simplify installation.
2. Beginning with the left side first, connect the new Mishimoto heater hose to the connection on the firewall and behind the engine block. Using your 8mm socket, tighten the hose clamps down securely.
3. You can now attach the new right side Mishimoto hose. Using your 8mm socket, tighten the hose clamps on connections below the exhaust manifold and firewall.
4. Using your 12mm socket, reattach the ground bolt to the engine block.
( 3 ) COOLANT REFILLING & INSTALL COMPLETION
1. It is now a good time to refill the vehicle with coolant. Screw the coolant drain plug back in if you have not done so already. Insert the funnel into the filler neck of the radiator and begin to pour in a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water. While filling, it’s a good idea to pump the upper radiator hose to remove any last bit of air in the system.
2. Reinstall the radiator cap and reconnect the negative terminal on the battery and start the vehicle, making sure the vehicle is in neutral or park.
3. With the vehicle running, turn the heat on high. Monitor temperature gauge to make sure the vehicle does not overheat.
4. Using a jack, raise the vehicle and remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle, or lower the vehicle on the lift you were using.
