How to get viable plum seeds to grow a plum tree

Found these seeds in plums that had fallen off the plum tree’s in my buddy Brad’s yard; they stayed on the ground all winter until they reappeared in the spring. I found the best method for opening up the shells to get at the seeds without damaging them was with vice grips. Simply adjust to the point where it just get tight on the shell and offers just enough pressure to crack open the shell. I was able to get 10 viable seeds from 13 shells I opened. I’m keeping the seeds in a damp paper towel in a zip lock bag in my fridge for a few days before placing them on top of the fridge to sprout. Once I notice they have started to sprout I plan to quickly place them into small pots. Updates to come as project plum unfolds.
