Cut to very fine tolerances. But do be careful not to over-torque. I explain why you need kid-gloves for all hex keys less than 4 mm. Not much metal separating the small hex keys from a piece of wire.
Personally, I avoid ball-end style for 3 mm and smaller – even less metal. If the hex key does not strip, the cap screw will.
