We use the small rotary table to drill the 3 hole pattern for the 3″ chuck backplate… an approach usefully suggested by “Cuppa Joe”. A few extra stages were needed in the end and, when all done and tested after, we had about 3 thou run-out in one revolution, this with the chuck and drill rod in it attached to turntable. Maybe not too awful for a real budget chuck.
