One would think that this has to be the easiest repair ever. It can be, but it is often a bit of a pain because the wire that is often used us very cheap and brittle. If you bend copper wire too much it breaks. And when it comes to the wires often found behind a doorbell button, there is not much there in the first place. You also can rarely pull more from out of the wall so be careful with it. Also if you are replacing a high-profile button, it usually that means that you won’t be able to mount a low-profile button. Because low-profile buttons stick out the back and need a hole in the wall to be able to fit. I ended up placing a block of wood on my wall so that the button was not mounted crooked on the siding and also I would now be able to mount a low-profile button.
The first button I installed was model number: DP1234A and I don’t recommend it.
