I decided to try opening an old combination lock that was attached to an old bike chain we had. The combination has been forgotten. So after watching other YouTubers describe how to take the back plate off the lock, thats what I did. I successfully got the plate off by prying it off with pliers, and using a screwdriver for leverage. However, I was unsuccessful at trying to figure out how to get it open by using the combination. I created another groove, and used a nail file to slide in between it and pull the lever back that locks the lock. After a couple hrs at trying the lock opened using the nail file. I haven’t had another successful attempt at opening it again, but it did work. PS. Due to the prying I ended up with sharp edges on the back of the lock so be careful not to cut yourself, and when using the screwdriver to pry, be careful so it doesn’t hit your hand. I ended up cutting my finger pretty bad because it hit me in the finger, while prying the second back plate apart. Hope the video helps.
