In Hawaii legal size for any Jack Trevally is 10in. This was legal but that means that it was up to me to keep it or release it. I’m into angling as a sport and love the action, so this Papio (local term for Jacks under 10lbs) was released safely back into the wild. Always a good feeling to preserve our future stocks.
I used a 1-1/2in Completely Hooked Lures extended glow green “Mune” minnow grub on a Fenwick HMXS 6ft light whipping rod with a Shimano Stradic 2500 CI4 with 6lbs SeaGuar Senshi monofilament main line to a 12ft 4lbs Sakura Fluorocarbon leader line. Hook was a gold MZ#11 with a 1/4oz lead egg.
I also used a Contour Roam#2 to video all the footage seen.
