I was given some old, beat-up, cracked sash clamps. I like a challenge, so this was my attempt at fixing them!
Out of the 7 or so clamps given to me, only 3 were salvageable by taking components from the others and making minor welding repairs.
I believe the metal that I welded was cast iron, so it will be interesting to see how they hold up when under stress, there are likely to be weak spots. I did a minor test in the video (clamping my hammer) which cracked one of the clamps, rendering it useless.
I’m planning on using the steel bars from the unfix-able clamps to make a future project…stay tuned!
