Cheap Easy G717 Gen 1 Stop Pin Fix



How to reinforce the old version of the G717 so the stop pin doesn’t shear off… (The new version has stronger pins)

The short explanation: Fill the hollow pin with 2.5 mm threaded rod.

Specifically: I use held some common screws in pliers and cut the heads off with a dremel. Then put one of them in at each end.

I derped and didn’t mention that 2.5 mm set screws are a thing a that exist. If you can get some of those, about 5 mm long, that would probably be ideal. They might even be at your local hardware store. I used normal screws because that’s what I had around without buying something new.
