How to make a tool to compress brake piston caliper to fit new brake pads. As brake pads wear out brake piston pushes out. To fit new brake pads you must compress the piston to make space for the new pads. One can purchase a tool specially made for this application. Alternatively, one can use a g clamp to compress the piston or one can create a tool that will push the piston in. This video will show you how to compress the caliper piston by using just:
2 nuts
1 bolt
2 spanners and 1 spanner to hold the nut
1 ratchet wrench/spanner to turn the bolt
By placing two spanners on the bolt you are able to press against the sides of the caliper. As you tighten the bolt the lower end of the bolt presses against the piston and pushes it in.
