Bolt Cutters are a very beneficial item to include in an urban emergency preparedness kit. There are many locations with chain link fence barriers that one might need to breach through in an emergency. Also, during an extreme event with massive building destruction, bolt cutters will allow you to cut through up to 5.2 mm of metal that would otherwise be much more difficult to do than with your standard multitool.
