Replacing Valve seals can be easy or very complicated. Especially with the head still on. First off.. DO NOT ATTEMPT if you do not have an air compressor.. you WILL drop a valve into the cylinder and then you are FUCKED! well not completely you just have to take the head off… but then you are messing with head gaskets and alot of work etc.
edit : the torque spec for the rockers is 21 ft lbs. some manuels suggest turning the crank to TDC before tightening. I did NOT do this and had no problems.
Also Easy way to get keepers out instead of using a screw driver is a magnet.
Only take one spark plug out at a time. Do not pull them all out at once. When you do this. crank the engine untill the piston comes to the very top of the cylinder. Doing this will save you if you lose air unexpectedly and the valve does fall into the head. With the piston at the top of the cylinder the valve will only fall a little…enough for you to grab it with pliers and not having to take the whole head out.
I’m am NO mechanic by any means I just like to take stuff apart and TRY to put it back together the right way so have fun with this. but dont curse at me when something on your project goes wrong lol and trust me THINGS ALWAYS GO WRONG!!
