Nothing like a cheap $3 fix!
For those who need to replace theirs….
what you need:
locking pliers, 15mm socket, ratchet(obviously), anything to rock the engine like a tow hook, a 6” C clamp will work, tow strap, or hooked chain. & maybe a screwdriver.
Easier to do them one at a time, if you take off both dogbones at the same time it makes it harder to put them back in(gotta rock the engine forward)
First: Take off your engine cover gives your ratchet a little room, prevents scuffs. Cover the front part of the body to prevent paint chips & scratches/swirls from were you lean on. A cheap set of rubber floor mats will do (like valucraft mats from autozone)
Second, Unbolt the bushing closest to the engine(ones your changing) with the pliers & ratchet Pull the engine forward if the bolt is stuck. works best when you pull from the back ‘black’ metal loop
Third, unbolt the radiator mount bolt (looks like the bolt you just took off)
Fourth: with the bracket out take the locking plyers and lock it onto the metal insert & rubber edge. To make it easier, either tear the other side apart with the plyers, or cut the insert edge off. Obviously, pull.
Fifth: to reinsert, a warm bushing flexes better than cold. If its cold outside let the bushing sit in hot water. for 5 minutes. Or heat it up in any way you can think of(obviously don’t burn it!) Don’t push it in or you’ll cut the edge & seperate the rubber from metal. Use pb blaster or wd-40, whatever you got to coat the inside of the mount & 1 side of the bushing. pull the edges away from the center of the bushing and force it into the mount. Once it is all folded in, you should be able to force it through.
sixth: re assemble & do the same for the other side. Tighten hand tight.
tada! easy!
