A Grass Snake, a Lizard and a Butterfly at RSPB Fowlmere – July 2014

I have never seen a grass snake in the flesh before and i got my first chance a couple of weeks ago at RSPB Fowlmere. It had been sunning itself to warm up for the day during the early morning on mound of dirt and reeds which it was probably sleeping in as well. Soon after it slithered off we spotted a common lizard on the same mound, also warming up for the day.

Lastly we spotted this lovely meadow brown butterfly? on our travels around the reserve, it was a little quieter then usual but it still gave us plenty to look at and listen to.
