A basin wrench is a necessity when it comes to changing a set of faucets, but is not required if changing a basin (bathroom sink) in a bathroom. There are a few situations where a set of faucets can be changed on a basin with a crescent wrench alone with some patients. A basin wrench does make the job a little easier.
