The 5kN or ~1,100 lb. Extra Wide Vise Grips are used to tensile test samples with up to 100mm thickness. The grip jaws slide along an embedded rail which helps to reinforce the entire apparatus around the specimen. These fixtures can attach to any universal testing machine by means of a standard female 5/8″ coupling and a 5/16″ locking pin.
This type of grip is often used to test foam, including both insulation and packing material. This Vise grip features our vulcanized rubber jaw inserts.
